Simplify 10 Darkish Updated, Windows 11 Update and more...

Hey guys, how's it going? It's been some time since I've sent a newsletter so here's are some updates:

SIMPLIFY DARKISH THEMES UPDATED

After quite a few requests, I've made some updates to my Simplify Darkish themes, mainly making the text color in File Explorer brighter and fixing a few other things like the huge white borders of the tool window visible in some apps like Adobe Premiere or Audition.

I've also modified the Darkish Yellow theme and added a new theme to the pack called Simplify Darkish Mac which you can see a screenshot below:

If you already bought the theme or my Simplify Dark Pack or you are a subscriber of the Full Store Access, just go to your Gumroad Library and download the updated themes. Enjoy!

WINDOWS 11 AND THE FUTURE OF THEMING

As you might have found out by now, Windows 11 has been released and I have some good news and bad news. The good news is that the UltraUXThemePatcher works perfectly so it enables us to use custom themes. Also, StartAllBack has been released and brings some sweet features to Windows 11 including the removal of the new ribbon menu and more. It's like OldNewExplorer (which by the way is not needed anymore) on steroids plus other options.

The bad news is that old Windows 10 themes don't work properly. The only way to make them work is to disable the min/max window animations and even with this feature off, I can't guarantee that they will work perfectly. And I'm not sure who wants to disable those sweet new Windows 11 animations, right?

So the only way to bring my old themes to Windows 11 is to recreate them from scratch one by one. Obviously, this will imply a lot of time and effort but I plan to update to Windows 11 next week and I'll start working on this. But I'll be sure to keep you up to date with my progress.

RETROISM ICON PACK PROGRESS

In the meantime, I've been working on adding new icons to my upcoming icon pack but I've kept splitting the design style because app icons are pretty different so it's hard to keep them on the same track. Anyway, please check the screenshot below with a few new icons. After many considerations, I've decided that the best way to approach this is to create generic icons inspired by the app branding but not necessarily using the app logo. So please let me know what you thing about the icons so far.

That's it for me today... have a great week ahead and as always, thank you guys for all your support!

Stay awesome,
Cristian
